Marriage is between one man and one woman. Marriage is the first covenant ordained by God (Genesis 2:
18).
Homosexuality is an abomination to God (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26 - 28). Therefore, same-sex unions
are a violation of God's intention for humans. Please note that a sin can be forgiven. (Also note that
differences in opinion do not equal hate, hate crimes, or homophobia.)
Homosexual "parenting" through adoption or foster parenting is impossibility. Parents are role models of
one man and one woman in a marriage. Some homosexuals may have the capacity to be committed to
another of the same gender but this is not a marriage.
Prior to the November, 2008 election, my wife and I knocked on nearly 5,000 doors in our area with a “yes”
on Prop 8 message. We distributed bumper stickers, yard signs and literature.
Perhaps the issue of same-sex unions is one of the most important issues facing California and our
nation. The lack of forethought about the costs to our culture, our legislation, and our judicial system is
astounding. Changing such an important construct- pillar of our society would reverberate through our
culture and all our systems weakening the foundations, maybe beyond repair. The Roman Empire
eventually rejected homosexuality noting its impact on the Empires downfall.
