| THE ENVIRONMENT |
 |
Environmental matters have come to the forefront of our awareness. In this respect, one realizes there is always a balance in nature to be considered. As one plant or animal increases in occurrence, another may decrease; later, the reverse might be observed. At times, a natural phenomenon such as a drought, rain, volcano, flood, etc., radically changes the milieu. This ebb and flow may be an entirely natural matter entirely independent of man's activities. Sometimes the decision and activities of humans alter the environment. One must use good judgment in the process with one's awareness of the long-term effects. |
A respectable balance then exists between the alteration of the environment for economic movement and maintenance of the natural state. If the environment is adversely changed, people may not be able to remain healthy and productive; if the environment is not used to the advantage of humans, humans are without employment and even a means of survival. The balance needs to be respected from both perspectives.
Related to the environment and niche/habitat of humans, the matter of availability of water must again be kept in balance. People need water to survive: where "water flows, food grows." Agriculture in California must be protected.
Note: I am doing my part to counteract the global warming issue.
I recycle vegetable oil collected from restaurant cookers and use this oil for fuel for my diesel truck; this allows me to travel the state roadways without polluting our environment.
I collect rainwater runoff from various buildings and structures on the farm, put a drop of vegetable oil on the top of the water (a mosquito cap) and store it in 50 gallon drums. Later it is used to water the more than 500 trees and shrubs planted on the farm.
There is a windmill erected on the farm to capture wind energy, and 250 square feet of solar panels ready for me to install after the election. On the farm, recycling of copper, brass, aluminum, and steel have always occurred. For the last few years we have been recycling plastic and glass containers.
There is an emphasis, here on our farm, to be frugal, practical, and inventive.
We are recent members of the Arbor Day Foundation which promotes tree growing.

Prayerfully cast your vote
I have heard man’s “logic”: “Follow the money.” “Go for name ecognition.” “Don’t vote for the best person; vote for someone who has a ‘chance’ to win.”
I, as recently as in the last primary election, fell prey to this thinking. Because my God is kind to me, with His grace, I came to understand the error of my thinking. |

2 Chronicles 7:14 back to top
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. |
