Sexual predators that prey on children must be stopped. Jessica’s law is one way to love our innocent children by keeping them safe. For a child to be sexually violated has lifetime ramifications. We must protect our children. Protection is the responsibility of all.

This is a moral issue from the predator’s perspective, the victim’s perspective, and from the perspective of lawmakers. The damage from sexual violation extends far beyond the helpless victims, reaching into the family and friends of the victims and beyond. The repercussions reach deep into the core of the conscience of our society as well. When people view others as the valued person they themselves want to be, people will not exploit others in any manner. The opposite is also true.

Mental health professionals can delineate patterns of history and psychodynamics that lead to child sexual abuse. Treatment of the predator must be combined with confinement and isolation from children. This is a compassionate approach for all parties

Prayerfully cast your vote

I have heard man’s “logic”: “Follow the money.” “Go for name recognition.” “Don’t vote for the best person; vote for someone who has a ‘chance’ to win.”

I, as recently as in the last primary election, fell prey to this thinking. Because my God is kind to me, with His grace, I came to understand the error of my thinking.
