WRITE-IN CANDIDATE The Plumb Line
A great number of good citizens have refused to register to vote. “Only 69 percent of potential voters —56 percent of the adult population— are registered to vote” says Steve Lawrence of the Associated Press, P.E. September 14, 2006. To punctuate this disastrous fact, one adds the reality that only 28.1% of the registered voters took the time to cast a vote in the June Primary Election (2006). And this is a democracy where voting is done in private. No one can impose consequences, emotional, social, employment or economic for voting. No one even knows how someone voted.
Since I have run in the Recall Election, 2003, and the Primary Election, 2006, I have been in contact with many people all over the state. Anecdotally, I can unequivocally state that voter apathy is due to mistrust and disappointment with self-serving elected public officials. I have been told politicians lie, cheat, misrepresent, and steal funds belonging to the taxpayers. And this seems to go on and on. Indeed, some elected officials are immoral regardless of what laws are passed. This has lead to apathy as voters opt out because they have better things to do with their time, talents, and energies. The closer I get to the inner workings of my government, the more troubled I have become with this situation.

I am not, by the grace of God, a quitter! I will not give up on my country. I am not a politician; by God’s Call, I advance as the Write-in Candidate. I think of solutions; I think practically; and I serve the people not an organization, a party, a special interest group, or a moneyed class.

You have the choice: More of the same or true leadership by example. Power and control of government must be taken back by the people. You now have a choice.

Here is how to exercise your choice:
  1. The Absentee Ballot has a place to write-in Robert C. Newman II in the last space after the names for governor. Fill in the oval or rectangle next to the name.

  2. At the polls, type in the name Robert C. Newman II in the space at the bottom of the governor category. If you use a paper ballot, be sure to connect the arrow, or to fill in the oval or rectangle next to the name to complete your vote. The instructions for write-in candidate must be clearly visible in all polling locations.
It is just that simple. You can make the choice and return government to the control of the people.

"We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate." Thomas Jefferson

Prayerfully cast your vote

I have heard man’s “logic”: “Follow the money.” “Go for name recognition.” “Don’t vote for the best person; vote for someone who has a ‘chance’ to win.”

I, as recently as in the last primary election, fell prey to this thinking. Because my God is kind to me, with His grace, I came to understand the error of my thinking.

2 Chronicles 7:14                                                                        Back to Top back to top

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
